How to Find a Device's MAC Address

A MAC address (also called a Physical address) is a unique number that identifies a computer or smart device on a network. You may need to look up your device's MAC address to register it for the jcu_guest network or for troubleshooting purposes. MAC addresses are are 12 characters, with every two characters usually separated by a colon or hyphen (for example, 44:85:00:3d:b3:b8).

Windows Computer

1. Open the Windows Settings app using the gear icon in the Start Menu.
2. Click on the Network & Internet preferences.
3. Scroll until you see View hardware and connection properties.
4. A list of all the network interfaces will display. Look for Ethernet for your wired MAC address and Wi-Fi for your wireless MAC address.
5. Look for Physical address (MAC). The 12 character number next to it is the MAC address.

MacOS Computer

1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner.
2. Click System Preferences.
3. Click the Network icon.
4. On the left column highlight either Wi-Fi or Ethernet depending on whether you need your wireless or wired MAC address.
5. Click the Advanced button in the bottom right.
6. Click on the Hardware tab and you will see your MAC address listed.

iOS Device

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Select General, then the About section.
3. Your MAC address will be listed under Wi-Fi Address.

Android Device

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Select About device.
3. Select Status.
4. Your MAC will be listed under WiFi MAC address.

Xbox

1. Go to the Settings page.
2. Select Network.
3. Select Advanced Settings.
4. Under IP settings, the MAC address will be listed next to Wired MAC and Wireless MAC.

PlayStation

1. Power on the PlayStation without a disc in the system.
2. In the menu, arrow up and select Settings.
3. Scroll to and select Network.
4. Scroll to View Connection Status.
5. The MAC address is listed by MAC Address (LAN) and MAC Address (Wi-Fi).

Nintendo Switch

1. Select System Settings from the Home menu.
2. Select the Internet option.
3. The MAC will be under System MAC Address.

Roku

1. Starting at the Home screen, go to Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Select About.
4. Look for Ethernet MAC address and Wireless MAC address.
