JCU classrooms are capable of being run in two (2) different modes: Video & Zoom. Video is meant for in person use only, while Zoom allows for remote participation. Selecting either mode will turn on all equipment in the room.
Turning the Room On
- If the touch panel is blank, tap the screen to turn it on.
- Tapping on Room On will initiate the following:
- The projection screen will drop.
- The projector will turn on.
- The rear display will turn on.
- It will change all displays to the Lectern PC (LPC).
- The display at the back of the room will work as a Confidence Monitor allowing you to walk around the room and see what's on the computer/projector so you don't have to turn your back to your students.
- To change sources, tap or drag the source to the display. This will change the projector & rear display to your chosen source.
Zoom Workplace
Due to changes at Zoom, they are no longer allowing third-party platforms to control their software. Because of this, we can no longer have dedicated Zoom Rooms & controls for each classroom. You will now use Zoom Workplace on the LPC, just as you would your JCU or Personal laptop.
This give you access to new features you didn't have before:
- Chat
- Breakout Rooms
- Poll/Quizzes
- AND MORE...
By default, your Zoom will be set where everything is on 1 screen with a Picture-in-Picture of the gallery. If you would like to have the back screen turn into a dedicated Zoom Gallery, please do the following
- Open up Zoom Workplace
- Click on your profile picture and go to Settings
- Select Meetings & webinars

- Scroll down and select Dual Window.
- On the Touch Panel press Macros -> Zoom Gallery. This will change the back TV to a dedicated Zoom Gallery.
Audio Controls
- The slider at the bottom of the touch panel will raise/lower the volume in the room.
Turning Off the Room
- Tapping on Room Off will initiate the following:
- The projection screen will raise.
- The projector will turn off.
- The rear display will turn off.
