Quick Start Guide - Zoom Desktop Client

Prerequisites 

  • Zoom Workplace Desktop Client
    • If you don't see the Zoom Client installed on your system:
      • JCU Owned Device: Open Software Center(Windows)/Self Service(Mac) and install Zoom
      • Non-JCU Owned Device: Download the Client from Zoom
  • Sign in to the Zoom Workplace App with your JCU Single Sign-On credentials and click on the "Phone" tab.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  • If using a Headset, connect to your computer.

Place a Call

  1. Open Zoom Workplace Client or App
  2. Sign in to Zoom using your Single Sign-on credentials
  3. Click on Phone
  4. Using the on-screen number pad type in the number you would like to call
    1. You can click on the numbers using your mouse or type them in using the number row or number pad on your keyboard.
    2. If you are calling a JCU employee, you can enter their name there and it will search our directory.
      • Make sure your cursor is in the "Enter name or Number..." field on the screen just above the number pad.
    3. With Zoom Phone you no longer need to dial "91" to reach external numbers.
    4. During the Zoom Phone Transitional period, please dial 10 digits (e.g., 216-397-3005) for all internal.
  5. Click the blue phone icon button to place the call.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. When call is done, click on the red phone iconUploaded Image (Thumbnail)

View Call History

  1. Open Zoom Workplace Client or App
  2. Sign in to Zoom using your Single Sign-on credentials
  3. Click on Phone
  4. Call History is found on the left-hand side of the screen

Features

  • All Missed calls will display the name or number in Red text.
  • Hover over the call, then click on the small phone icon to call the number back.
  • Hover over the call, then click on the three dot menu for additional options
  • You can filter your calls by click on the All History

Check Voicemail

  1. Open Zoom Workplace Client or App
  2. Sign in to Zoom using your Single Sign-on credentials
  3. Click on Phone
  4. On the left hand above your Call History, click on Voicemail

  5. Click on the name to expand.
  6. Press play to listen to your voicemail.
    1. A transcript of your voicemail is also available on this screen, just below the details.
  7. Click on the three dots to expand the options for this voicemail
    1. From this list you can "Delete" the message.

You can receive your voicemail messages in an email, which includes a transcript of the audio.
