Overview
A Canvas Sandbox course is a safe, non-public space for instructors to explore Canvas features, experiment with course design and prepare materials without affecting live courses. It allows for practice, preparation and content development before making changes to a live course.
Features
Exploration and Experimentation: Sandbox courses provide a risk-free environment to learn about Canvas tools and features, try out different layouts, and experiment with various third-party applications.
Course Preparation: Instructors can build and refine course content, such as modules, assignments, and quizzes before importing them into a live course.
Content Backup: A Sandbox course can serve as a backup for course content, allowing instructors to easily copy and restore previous versions of their materials.
Content Organization: Sandbox courses can be used to organize course materials and layouts, making it easier to copy and paste them into live courses when needed.
Avoiding Disruptions: By using a Sandbox course, instructors can make changes and updates to course content without impacting students currently enrolled in the live course.
