Enabling Google Drive as a Service for Canvas

Prerequisites 

  • JCU Google account
  • Active student for Canvas access

This article covers how to enable third-party cookies in your browser and how to link your Google Drive and Canvas accounts.

Enable Third-Party Cookies in your Browser

  1.  In your browser click on the more icon () in the top right and select the Settings option.
  2. On the left side navigation, click Privacy and security (certain browsers might show this as Advanced settings).
  3. Click the Third-party cookies option.
  4. Select either the Allow third-party cookies option or the Block third-party cookies in Incognito mode option.

Linking Canvas and Google Drive

  1. Log into canvas.jcu.edu
  2. Click on your profile picture and select Settings
  3. Scroll down until you see the Web Services section
  4. Under other services, click on Google Drive
  5. Click the Authorize Google Drive Access button. You will be redirected to Google to verify the authorization.
  6. Click on your JCU account and allow the authorization. You may be asked to log into your Google account before continuing.
