This article will walk you through how to turn on the system and make sure that all of the components are working.
Prerequisites
- This equipment is available through reservation. Please be sure to request it at least 1 week prior to your event.

Turn On the Speaker
- If already setup, skip to the next step. If not setup continue:
- Pull out the three pieces of the speaker.
- Connect them together
- Place them into the large base unit.
- Plug power cable into outlet. Note: This is not required for the battery-operated one if it is charged.
- Turn on the speaker by pressing the power button. This is located on the back of the system just below the display screen.
- The volume controls should all be pre-set by ITS to ensure this process is as smooth as possible. If something isn't loud enough please see the volume adjustment section below
- The Wired microphone will turn on when the speaker system is turned on.
Turn on the Wireless Microphones
- Locate the receiver box. It is a small black box that has two antennae on it. ITS will connect it to the JBL speaker ahead of time
- On the receiver locate the power button, hold it down until it powers on.
- Next, Locate the Wireless Lapel pack, this looks just like the receiver but has a Lavalier microphone attached to it and one antenna.
- On the mic pack locate the power button, and hold it down until it powers on.
- Once you turn this on, the microphone will be live.
- Finally, Locate the hand help microphone.
- On the handheld microphone locate the power button, and hold it down until it powers on.
- Once you turn this on, the microphone will be live.
- Both microphones can be muted and unmuted by pressing the power button again (lightly)
Turning Off
To turn off the equipment just press and hold the power button on all components of the system (microphones, receiver, speaker)
Adjusting the Volume
To adjust the volume for all components, use the "Main/Menu" knob. It will turn up all of the microphones.
