How to Use a MacBook with Zoom in the Classroom

  • An Apple MacBook

Pair MacBook to Room

You can pair your MacBook to the classroom to use both the in-room audio visual equipment and share content from your computer.

  1. Open up Zoom Workplace on your MacBook.
  2. Select Pair with Zoom Room in the upper right cornerUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Look at the Projection Screen/Main TV for the Share Key in the upper right corner; there's an arrow pointing to it. Enter that code into the pop up on your MacBook.
  4. Select Join to type in your Meeting ID or start the meeting from the list.
  5. When asked how to start, select Start from room and as companionUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. You will now be using the audio visual equipment in the room, but able to share content from your MacBook.

Join Meeting from MacBook

If you want to use your MacBook after you've already started the meeting via the touch panel, follow these steps.

  1. Start the Zoom meeting from the touch panel like normal.
  2. Open up Zoom Workplace on your MacBook.
  3. Select Join on the Home pageUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Type in the Meeting ID
  5. On the pop-up that asks about joining audio, do not join audio on computer
    • This will cause a feedback loop in the classroom
