Wireless Sharing

Effective July 2025, Solstice Pods were replaced with Wireless Sharing Power by Zoom. 

Prerequisites 

  • Zoom Client installed on device
    • Computer/Desktop
    • Mobile Device/Tablet download the Zoom Workplace App from the App Store or Play Store 
  • Zoom Account
    • This does not have to be affiliated with John Carroll in any way

We will go through the details on how to connect and share your screen using the Wireless Screen Sharing powered by Zoom (affectionately nicknamed Zulley by ITS). The steps will vary just slightly depending on the equipment present in the classroom or conference room.

Conference Room Display

On your Computer or Device

  1. Open the Zoom Workspace Client
  2. Navigate to the Home Screen in the top navigationUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Click on Share screenUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. A window will pop up asking for a Sharing Key or Meeting ID. 
  5. Enter the Sharing key and click OK
    1. In the conference room, turn on the TV Display and make sure it is on the correct input source
    2. In the top right corner of the screen, you will find the Sharing key.
  6. When done, click on Stop Sharing at the top of your screen.

Limitations

This new system has a few limitations compared to the old Solstice Pod solution. They are listed below:

  • You can no longer have multiple people sharing their screen at the same time. To allow someone else to share, stop sharing on your system first, then they can proceed through the appropriate steps above.
