Automox Splashtop Permissions on Mac

This Article Covers:

How to grant permissions to the Automox Splashtop remote assistance app, on your Mac device. This allows our IT team to securely and remotely support your computer in order to help troubleshoot issues and install updates.

Prerequisites

  • Log into a JCU owned Mac device, connected to the Internet.

Installation and Pop Ups

To ensure Splashtop works properly on macOS, you will need to grant it permissions, after the installation.

  • During or after the installation, macOS will show one or more "System Settings" permission pop-ups.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Required Permissions

Splashtop needs these below permissions to let it view or control your screen securely, and help you more efficiently.

  • Screen & System Audio Recording: Required for the computer's screen to be viewed during a remote session.
  • Microphone: Required to redirect sound or enable voice calls during a remote session.

Troubleshooting Permissions

If permissions are not granted, remote access may not work. If you missed a pop-up or need to grant permissions later:

  1. Navigate to System Settings > Privacy & Security.
  2. Locate permissions such as Screen Recording or Microphone.
  3. Grant access to "Splashtop Streamer" if it doesn't have it already.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
