Swollen or bulging batteries are a fire hazard. At JCU it is more commonly seen with older laptops or Microsoft Surfaces. The laptop should be brought to the Service Desk ASAP for disposal. Faculty and Staff will be given a replacement laptop to use instead.
The symptoms to look are for are screens or back covers that appear to bulge or bow out of place.
