How to Install and Use Mersive Solstice

Prerequisites 

• Solstice pods can only connect to devices connected to Eduroam.

How to Install Mersive Solstice

1. Open up Software Center
2. Double-click Solstice Client & select Install

How to Use Mersive Solstice

Option 1

1. Open the Mersive Solstice App
2. Once opened, you will see a list of rooms in alphabetical order; find or search for the room you would like to connect to and select it. 
3. You will be prompted to enter the key that is displayed on the screen in the room. 

Option 2

1. Open the Mersive Solstice App
2. In the bottom left corner of the screen, you will see a 4-digit code. You can type this code into the top search bar.

How to Share Content

• Desktop
  • Your entire laptop screen will show.
  • Whatever is on your screen, will be shared into the meeting.
• App Window
  • You will share a specific Application or Window.
  • This allows you to have another app (e.g. Word) open to take notes or look up other information, without sharing it into the meeting.
• Media File
  • This will share a specific image or video file.
  • This is the best way to share media content with the least amount of "lag".

How to Remove Content from the Screen

1. In the upper right corner, you will select the  Preview screen.
2. Drag the content from said screen to the left sidebar to hide it.
   • This content will stay in the sidebar until brought back to the main window, or you disconnect from the meeting.

Ending the Meeting

• Select Disconnect from the upper right corner.
• After disconnecting, the PIN # will change so nobody can enter the same meeting.

Using Solstice Mirror on Mobile Device

1. Download the Solstice Mirror app: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=mersive&c=apps
2. Type in the IP address of the SolsticePod you're trying to cast to. This number is located on the top right of the Display while no one is casting, or rotating in the bottom left corner while someone is casting.
3. The Screen Key will enlarge on the screen, and rotate down in the lower left corner. 
4. Tap on "Mirror Screen"
5. You will then be asked if you want to share "A single app" or "Entire screen".
   • If you select A single app, you will need to have that app already open on your phone for it to be detected.
   •  If you select Entire Screen, whatever you see on your phone will show on the TV in real-time.
6. When you are complete, simply tap Disconnect at the bottom of the app.
