Transfering JCU Google files to A New Account

Prerequisites 

  • Active JCU account
  • Personal Gmail account.

Google Takeout Transfer Method

  1. Go to accounts.google.com and log in using your JCU account.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Press the blue Start Transfer button.
  3. Enter the email account you would like the emails and/or Drive files to be transferred to and click Send.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Open your personal email account listed in above step to find the verification email.
    1.  To access the code, you will have to click the button in the email to view, copy and paste into the field on the transfer page from previous step. This code will expire after 24 hours.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Next, select the files you wish to transfer. Click the blue Start Transfer button.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
This process can take some time, your files will not transfer immediately.

If you are transferring email and drive at the same time and receive the error 'Recipient account does not have enough storage,' even though your personal account has enough storage, you will need to perform the above steps twice, once for Drive and once for email.

You can only have one active transfer request at a given time.

Traditional Google Takeout

It is highly recommended that this method be used only if you are transferring to a non-Google account, or the above method does not work properly.
