Phones

John Carroll University utilizes an Avaya VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) system for university phones. The system provides, but is not limited to the following: Analog lines, Digital lines, VoIP. Desk phones are provided for all employees.

Voice Mail

The John Carroll University voice mail system allows you to record personalized greetings to let callers know if you’re on a call, away from your desk, or out of the office. Callers can press 0 to be transferred to the administrative assistant, university operator, or anyone else that you would like to define as an answering point. 

Remote Access

Both phone and voice mail services can be accessed when not at your office.

Voice mails can be accessed from any phone by dialing 216-397-6200. Additionally, voice mails can be sent to your email or text messages, or accessed from a web portal. For these later features please submit a request to have them activated.

Phone service, meanwhile, can be used remotely using the Avaya Communicator application. The app can be installed on a university laptop and allows you to place and receive calls from your phone.

Faculty and Staff.
